LABORATORY SAFETY / HAZARDOUS WASTE TRAINING WEBINAR

Shipping of Infectious Substances and Dangerous Goods (49CFR/IMDG/IATA) Webinar

Presenter: Jairo Betancourt      Training Time: 2 hours
The seminar will prepare the audience to properly pack, label, document, and complete the whole shipping process per IATA Dangerous Goods and US Department of Transportation regulations. It will specifically teach the shipping of Biological agents as either Biological Agents Category B and/or Infectious Substances Affecting Humans. It will help you to differentiate between category A and B Infectious Agents and provide information on the whole shipping process.
This seminar is required for all employees involved in the shipment (by highway, ocean, or air) of Infectious Substances or samples that contain potentially infectious material, such as blood, tissue, and human or animal body fluids as well for those employees involved in the shipment of any substance or articles that may be considered dangerous (examples include chemicals, paints batteries, etc.)

BIOLOGICAL SAFETY WEBINAR

This seminar presents the risk assessment process as the way to work safely with infectious and potentially infectious agents while at the same time complying with existing regulation, standards, and guidelines. The analysis of all applicable agent specific risk factors is used to determine and assign risk groups and appropriate biosafety level to agents. The seminar will offer mechanisms to develop a risk management process thru laboratory design, safety equipment and good laboratory practices.
