Biomedical Waste Guidance

NAME OF TRAINING: BIOMEDICAL WASTE
CONTENT OF TRAINING:
  • Participants will understand their responsibilities to identify and properly dispose biomedical waste.
WHO MUST ATTEND:
  • Mandatory for any worker whose activities involve the generation of biomedical waste, also known as biohazardous waste and infectious waste. Training must be repeated annually.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR TRAINING:

EXPLANATION AND EXAMPLES:
  • Biomedical waste (also known as biohazardous waste and infectious waste) must be disposed according to each area's Unit Specific Biomedical Waste Plan.
  • NOTE: Biomedical Waste training is presented together with Bloodborne Pathogens, Tuberculosis, and Latex Allergy training as a single session.
